Q. What happened to Selkirk in the UK?
A. Selkirk Manufacturing went into Administration in 2003 and was acquired by the Stamm Corporation, owners of Powrmatic. The name has been changed to SFL.

Q. How come Selkirk is back?
A. Selkirk was always an American owned company and with the demise of the spun off European operation it made sense to reintroduce the best known name and products in the industry back into the UK.

Q. How do the products compare?
A. All of the original tooling came from North America so both the Insta-Lock Gas Vent and Twin-Wall Chimney systems are of similar design and conform to all of the latest European standards.

Q. Is Selkirk a Canadian company?
A. Selkirk was originally founded in Selkirk, Manitoba Canada. As part of today’s global economy, Selkirk LLC is a Division of Tomkins LLC (www.tomkins.co.uk)

Q. What does Selkirk do?
A. Selkirk is an industry leading manufacturer of Chimney, Venting and Fireplace products. Chimney and Venting products are marketed across North America and in the U.K.

Q. Does Selkirk make Wood Stoves?
A. No. Selkirk had been a manufacturer of Wood Stoves in the past and does make Built-in Wood Burning Fireplaces – but Free Standing Wood Stoves are no longer part of our product mix.

Q. Who is Deks?
A. Deks Distribution UK is the Master Distributor for Selkirk products in the U.K and also distributes its market leading Dektite roof flashings.

Q. Selkirk offers a Lifetime Warranty on all products –are these products expected to last forever?
A. Selkirk stands behind it’s products with a Lifetime Warranty that protects the purchaser from defects in material and/or workmanship. Specific products also contain additional coverage that fall within their individual design criteria (for example, Model CF Chimney is warranted to withstand chimney fires). While all products have an expected life span, our warranty is our promise that once you buy our products, you also buy our service – we will be there to help where you may require assistance in the future.
