| 1933 | In Selkirk, Manitoba, Kelly Sveinson invents the first insulated prefabricated chimney, using a metal Coca-Cola sign for raw material. Selkirk Metal Products begins manufacturing chimney and gas vent in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Canada. |
| 1957 | Selkirk introduces "rock wool" insulated chimney for solid fuel appliances. |
| 1972 | Production of Gas Vent and Chimney begins in the UK under the name Selkirk-UK. Selkirk-Metalbestos products begin distribution in seven European countries. Manufacturing is based in Barnstaple, England. |
| 1982 | The separate operating divisions in U.S.A. Canada and the UK are merged into one company named Selkirk Metalbestos. |
| 2000 | Selkirk sells the U.K. operating division. |
| 2004 | Selkirk U.K. (no longer a Division of Selkirk LLC) ceases operations. |
| 2006 | Selkirk LLC is acquired by Tomkins PLC. |
| 2006 | Selkirk Re-enters the U.K. marketplace through an agreement with Deks Distribution U.K. |
